My theatrical experience

It was ten years ago with my students at first course of ESO. It was the first time I did it and the experience was really positive. It took us one term and they performed the last scene of Romeo and Juliet. Even years later they could remember most of their words!.

Now we are performing a new version of West Side Story in 2º Bachillerato Ampliación de Inglés. First they watched Romeo and Juliet because West Side Story is based on it. Later they watched the film and after a test about the comparison of the two films the action started! It's being difficult since there are a lot of dialogues - which they come out- and, of course, they have to dance as well. They are really motivated and excited especially the days when we film. If we are lucky we'll have finished before Easter holidays. I'm really enjoying with them and I'm finding out new qualities in my own students.
