The nearest experience I have had with drama so far is when I ask students to represent role-plays or when I tell them stories or ask them to do so.
What they love doing is represent authentic soap operas based on web quests we work in class.In groups, they video record themselves and we watch the short films they make during the lesson and we comment on all of them. I know video recording is easier for them as they can repeat any part as many times as they need until they get it right, which is a great aid in their learning.
About role plays, one of their weekly tasks is record themselves in pairs playing the different parts of dialogs related to the unit we are working on. Then they send me their audio files to my e-mail account. I comment the most common mistakes they make in class and I even play some of the most illustrative files and explain what is wrong and what is right. I don't tell them who they belong to but they eventually find out.
