My own theatrical experience

Hello there!

I use drama activities in all my didactic units. The role play technique is the one that I use more. We act when we sing songs or when we play to learn the vocabulary of the unit, using mime and gestures. I have started to play a new game this year. I tell my pupils stories about things that have happened to me (or I tell them so) and I make move all around the class making gestures for every single move, as if I was living that part of the story again. I can catch their attention and they can improve their oral skills, because are suppose so guess what some of the gesture are. We create a especial atmosphere that let us concentrate more easily. They speak English naturally when we do this activity and they enjoy this a lot. They will tell us stories in the same way during the next term. Hope it will be great!
