My theatrical experience

First of all I must say I trust very much in theatre as a teaching-learning resource ; all of us remember our own experience as pupils when we have play a role, even a little role.

As en english teacher, I usually plan theatre nearly in every unit. I think its one of the best ways to assess the effective learning, in every skill and at any level.

With a theatre play, we practice the language in a real context, we use language for something; we learn vocabulary, expressions andwe interact with the rest of the pupils.

With young students , enfant and first cycle, we practice routine and daily situations like shopping, eating, school. They talk about their own real lifes but in another language and they always add the fantasies they like.

With older children, what I do its create an outline and we write the dialogues among all of us, I just correct the mistakes but I leave them to their imagination. I work very much in rehersals, many times the same to incorporte the dialogues in themselves. I try always they enjoy with humoristic situations and I like that they express their own feelings in their own words.
